 Re: Alfred Schnittke
Alfred Schnittke 1934 - 1998 Альфред Шнитке
Considered one of the 20th century's great composers in his native Russia, Alfred Shnitke not only created classical works (symphonies, concertos, etc.) but also film scores. In cinema, Shnitke worked most often on the films of Elem Klìmov. Born in the city of Engels in Russia, Schnitke was the son of Russian immigrants; German was his first language. In 1946, his family moved to Vienna and it was there that Schnitke discovered his passion for music. As a young man, he attended the Moscow Conservatory; by his 1961 graduation, Schnitke already had a reputation for his innovative work, but by the late decade his music fell out of favor with the Soviet government and his output was restricted. Schnitke turned toward writing film scores beginning with “Dyadya Vanya” (1967). Upon his death in August 1998, Shnitke was interred in Moscow's Novodevìchy cemetery, the final resting place of some of Russia's greatest artists.
Non so casa posso dirti
E' un compositore assai strano
Anche a me piaccono molto le sue composizioni, soprattutto la sua opera lirica "La Vita con un Idiota" ("Жизнь с идиотом")
